After You, Laptop

Sorry, Lady on the bus with three big bags, standing in the aisle trying not to topple over. That guy would have really liked to have given you that vacant seat beside him, but his laptop really needed the seat.

Laptop has been working pretty hard lately, and has also just started working nights, getting a second job unpacking boxes in a supermarket. To be honest, Laptop's dog's are really barking. As you know, laptops get pretty tuckered out and need a good sit down at the best of times.

So, Lady, no hard feelings, and thanks for understanding.

If I had been lady on the bus with three big bags, I would have said something to the guy and laptop.
I haven't found buses so bad for people offering seats though. Trains, on the other hand..... there was one time when I was heavily pregnant, I boarded a crowded train at an inner city station and not one person got up to offer me a seat. And there were many many seated young blokes in business suits who were carefully avoiding my steely glares...

Hee hee, Ben. I've had the same experience recently Karen and I just ask for a seat. A friend of mine was 8 months pregnant and asked a (posh Melbourne private) school boy for his seat. He just smirked and ignored her. She waited about 30 seconds and then sat down on top of him. Heavily.

I gave him the stinkeye and he eventually moved it.

On the flipside, I have offered my seat to obviously pregnant women only to get a curt "no thankyou".

there should be some kind of law for everyone to abide by so there's no confusion.
