Bananas has gotten off to a strong start- on it's first morning it got 200,000 viewers, which is pretty high. It beat Sesame Street and a lot of other shows that day. It got a little write up in the SMH Guide which was pretty positive.
The expectation is that they may be some negative reaction at first, with the revamp and the shift to animation, but the hope is that the parents will kinda stop worrying about all that, and the new generation of kids will enjoy it. One comment I read on a thread of an article about it said, They're just scary sell outs... Poor form ABC!!
Youch. Can't win 'em all.

Thanks Gary. the company I work for has two animation studios, one here, and one in Singapore. Pre-production (what I do) and post production is done here, and the actual animating is done in Singa's.
They copped some flack while in production, saying the beloved Aussie property was being shipped off overseas etc. The reality, it was either co-made there, or not made at all.
We haven't seen it yet! And my kids are not happy. The difficulty? We haven't made the move to digital yet. I can see a black set-top box in our future...
