Great Expectations

Anyone been watching the BBC version of Great Expectations? I'm enjoying it. Gillian Anderson is doing a good job of Miss Havisham, except of course she's way younger than how the book describes her. Also, I really liked the actor playing Pip as a boy, but am finding it hard to warm to the grown up version. He looks like he came straight from the catwalk. Really, he's prettier than the actress playing Estella.

Still, it's a great production. It's inspired me to read some more Dickens, so yesterday I started David Copperfield. Am loving it.

We have watched the first two episodes by ABC iview. Excellent!! So well done and interestingly portrayed. I want to go and read the book now!! How is David Copperfield going? We are going to watch the final episode right now.

The last episode was good, huh? That fire scene was done so well. Eery. What did you think of the ending? I love the story, but sometimes feel it ties up maybe a tad too neatly? Almost like it was a bit too farfetched that Estella would be Magwich's daughther. But hey, who am I to argue with Charles Dickens!

Also the Pip actor warmed on me. I thought he was really good in that last episode.

And yeah, D Copperfield is going well, I'm really loving it so far. Such likable writing.
