3. Own a snake.

4. Yesterday was our peek at spring, so we grilled dinner last night.

4. I think I've mentioned lentil loaf in response to a previous quiz question on this blog, so maybe I should think up something else... It's so good, though!!

1. Basicly. Basically. Also, Leicharddt. Leicharqrdtt. Liecharrdt. What sort of mental suburb name is that.

2.Hmm. A big one used to be unanswerd comments. You know, you right some fantastic comment on someone's blog, extending the hand of friendship, and you can squat. I try my best not to do this, but sometimes just forget to reply. Sorry.

3. Have very little interest in animation.

4. Baked dinner. Particularly the potatoes and gravy.

5. Work focus

Leichhardt is named after a German explorer dude, and so it is German.

1. Most things. I'm a lousy speller. But things that end in "ant" and "ent" get me. I know there's a rule.... I should get around to learning it.
2. When you comment on someone's blog and you get the feeling that everyone else there probably knows each other in "real" life and you don't know if you're actually just kind of intruding and they are all thinking, "Who IS this person and why do they think their opinion might matter?"
3. ..wasn't born in Australia.
4. takeaway pizza - because it gave me a night off cooking.
5. productivity rather than procrastination.

Oh and, Ben, I'm relieved to see the quiz is still here. I had this feeling that once Buddy was in your life you might not need a blog anymore. Afterall, he looks like a pretty good listener and quality company. I'm sure that's true so it's compassionate of you to still blog for our sakes.

Karen said...

1.Hilarious/hilairious...There you go. My spell check feature just told me the second one is wrong...
2. What Deb said. It describes my feeling EXACTLY when I am commenting on people's blogs if I don't know them in real life (and just on that topic, in real life, I only know about two of the bloggers whose blogs I comment on).
3.Love lighthouses. My dream holiday destination but totally unaffordable at this stage of our lives.
4. Indian takeaway on Saturday night. A rare treat.
5. Inspiration and motivation. I have to write a tutorial over the next couple of weeks and feel like I have no clue on where to start.

Cjed- I hope you get some good news about the interview.

And by the way, being German doesn't give anyone the right to have a double H in their name. Wrong is wrong.

Pedro- I'm a regular at the Bunnings sausage sizzle. I can't resist.

Beth- wow, what kind of snake is it?

Belle- Sepultura? I am surprised. I'll always have a softspot there, they were one of the first heavy bands I got into. I taped 'Desperate Cry' off the JJJ '3 Hours of Power' in 1992 (year 9).

Jess- I am surprised to hear that you were homeschooled. I'm not sure I've ever met a genuine article homeschoolee before. Good times?

Al- I think you and Nathan should have a blog debate as to the virtues and pitfalls of live-blogging.

George- I know what you mean there. I think sometimes posts that are supposed to be encouraging, often have the opposite effect..

Deb- The annoying thing about spelling rules is that there's always some dopey exception. How are you supposed to know when it's the exception?

And yes, Buddy is a very good listener. When he isn't defecating on the rug.

Karen- I agree, Lighthouses are awesome. I got a bit interested in them too at one point, and wrote a song about them. I like the word 'Pharology'. Who knew there was a science of lighthouses.

Ben, the German language is known for compound words - they end up with a great string of characters but it makes it easy to work out what the word means if you know the component bits. Similarly, surnames might be compounded, in which case "Leichhardt" may be a compound of "Leich" and "Hardt" if they are existing individual surnames.

Anyway, here are my answers:

1. I don't think I'll ever learn how to spell.. - I'm with Belle on 'accommodation' (one time to be grateful for spell-check as it's the same in US and Australian English). Another that trips me up is 'commitment'.
2. What gives you blog related angst (or Blangst, as it's known in the Science World)? - over-thinking a post I intend to write - so I end up not writing.
3. You might be surprised to know that I.. - can't eat capsicum but can eat other chilli family members. JalapeƱos, no problem; capsicum, bleah, particularly if cooked because then the smell makes me want to puke.
4. Best thing you ate over the weekend - where do I start - I was on a well-catered weekend away quilting. Probably the dessert on Saturday night was the most exciting - it wasn't fruit salad! (the common dessert given to those with special dietary requirements) - it was a small cake-like thing with a raspberry and cherry coulis.
5. I hope this week brings.. - hmm, the only things I want this week are ones over which I have control - that means that I have to take responsibility for doing them.

Beth- Wow, that's amazing you'e had it so long. I find it surprising how long some animals live. It's also surprising how short some animals live!

Laetitia- Don't defend the German's double H's. It's just not worth it.

Yes, I think overthinking is the enemy of posting. As long as you are sort of careful about what you write, I reckon it's pretty much always better to just blurt it out without too much planning. Whenever I think about a post for too long they come out stilted and try-hardy.

Yeah. I've appreciated his actually.

It's the micro live-blogger who gets up my goat.
