1. I had a little gadget called the Talking Lesson One. It kept me entertained for a very long time.
2. ...on speakerphone in the car in a bad reception area and talk for ages, even after I've told you that I'm having a really hard time understanding anything you're saying. It makes my brain tired.
3. ...about Australian politics. I still don't get the whole upper/lower house thing.
4. Patriarchy.
5. Kinda! I never think I'll care, but then I watch the slow mo pieces with the emotional music playing over a montage of people winning stuff and beating the odds and I bawl. Those things are awesome.

1. I'm torn between Lego and my paper dolls. Great fodder for the imagination was to be had with both.
2. Kaz.
3. Woodwork. We had to do it as a subject at Uni (believe it or not!) and it was completely useless in my working life...
4. Tradition works for me too. I don't like changing stuff very much.
5. Yep. Can't wait.

2. Georgia!!
3. I don't have anything I regret spending lots of time learning. I like being a good swimmer, piano player, trainer, etc.
4. That the guy has to be taller than the girl. It's shit when you're a 6'1 Christian female

1. My teddy bear. Also my dad was a carpenter and made a huge block box full of blocks of all sizes. Hours and hours of house and fence and tower building.
2. Bossy.
3. I actually don't think I really regret ever putting too much time and energy into learning something... however, the opposite CANNOT be said... I am very aware of my lack of time and energy spent learning things pretty important to know.
4. Just don't get some of the Halloween traditions and am about to grapple with it more as our kids get over.
5. Very Very Much. Considering an inflatable mattress in front of the television.

1. Lego. Especially my space Lego, that stuff was awesome. I'm sad I don't still have it.

2. Narrow minded. Especially when referring to musical taste.

3.Break dancing in my early 20's. I was in a hiphop group and wanted to learn breakdancing, but was always pretty rubbish at it. The boat had long sailed.

4. The running of the bulls. Dopey. Don't make a news headline of someone getting gored or trampled- what did you expect was going to happen!?

5. Kinda. The excitement is steadily growing. It's a bit of a fun spectacle. Looking forward to the sprinting.

1. Bike. Then I could go places.
2. Too serious.
3. How to work out a "cheat" using my fingers so I didn't have to learn my 8 times table. I could have just learnt the table!
4. Not done away with but I struggle with present traditions - when to give, when not to, how big, should the gift be opened in front of the giver or is it more polite to wait.... Ugh.
5. Nope. Might watch the opening ceremony highlights though. I'll probably find myself caught up it even though I think sport is primarily a waste of time and energy. It's the underdogs that get me.

Sorry, late again.

Belle-Learning more about politics seems to me to be a lose lose kind of affair..

Pedro-I'm surprised you say that about your motorbiking stint. You always talked about it so fondly.

Karen-I'm a bit the opposite-- I really wish I HAD bothered to learn woodwork.

Crazyj-So are there no shortened versions of your name that you approve of? It's a long one, like Benjamin..

George- I hope 'George' is ok then..

Al-Oh yeah, I had a sweet yellow dumptruck as well. Loved it.

Dawn-Wow.. matteress in front of tele keen. That's hardcore.

Kim- Books were your toy? Who are you, Jane Eyre?

Deb- Yeah there was nothing quite like bike freedom. It was such a good feeling. With no staunch stackhat rules you were free to have the wind in your hair. Good times.

yeah there is a short version of my name that I approve of, Beth. I believe that when I was born my aunt came to visit my mother and me i hospital and said "So this is the lovely Liz" and my mum said "she is not Liz". I think I was influeced by this.
