DistinctDisciples

Work takes up such a big chunk of our week, and often it's a lot easier to view that chunk resentfully as a chore, rather than seeing good in it, or opportunity in it, beyond putting bread on the table. It's easy to forget that God gave people work to do before The Fall-  'The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.' (Gen 2:15) Work was created good.

My good mate Andrew Laird has long had an interest and passion in thinking through what it means to be a Christian in the workplace, its implications for relationships, attitude to work, witnessing etc etc. So I was really excited to find out he, along with a friend, have started up a new ministry, DistinctDisciples, to help people think through their daily work, be it in the workforce, or at home.

The DistinctDisciples website was launched this week, go have a squiz. And here's a youtube clip they made to sum up what it's all about.

This issue has been on my mind frequently. Like most people I swing like a pendulum when it comes to work...good days and bad days. Work is such a challenge that I can't face the day without praying for God's help. Physical work itself is less of a issue, but relationships can definitely be a major challenge...Are we meant to all have good relationship at work as a Christian? There's alot of guilt when you don't always get this right...

Hi AY, I think you capture a common frustration and question many Christians have about work. We hope to address this exact issue at distinctdisciples.com in the near future. When we do, do you mind if we use your comment you've posted here? No problem if you prefer not:)
