C.B.R.P.

I'm already getting the feeling that I'll struggle to keep up with the reading schedule. I already missed a day over the weekend. I think I want to be relaxed about it though, and not be too drill sergeantish- otherwise I'll just lose heart and give up.

This morning I finished he first section of Genesis, up until we meet Abram. A lot of amazing stuff goes on in those few chapters. Now I head into the dust and ashes of Job for a couple of weeks..

Can I just say...Job is tough work. I've found I have to read and re-read again sometimes to try to take it all in. I'm trying to focus on the bigger picture of the book as I'm going along to make it easier to keep on track with all the details of the conversation.

I haven't missed a day yet but things are about to get a whole lot busier here so I'm sure I'll start to fall back a bit too.

We can do this :)

I read Job 1-5 this morning. I find it kind of chilling the way Satan is just casually coming into God's presence, and they are having conversations and stuff.

Also interesting to read this so soon after the snake in the garden stuff- it made me sort of connect the too more.

You're right, we CAN do this!

Miss days! Go on! You can do it! The more the better!

Who cares if it takes you years to get through it? I interrupted my last year-long plan with lots of meandering bits of Bible study.

I just got to the end of Job in the same plan today. So you, Karen and I are tag-teaming. Certainly an interesting book to be confronted with up-front!

Hi Jean,

Thanks for dropping by! Nice to talk to someone who's on the other side of Job. Yeah, I think it's fine to ease the pressure,it's silly to say if I don't read such and such in this many days I've failed!

Hi Ben.
I have been offline for a few weeks with computer problems. But I have been able to read the occasional blog on other people's computers! I am so excited and encouraged reading your posts on the CBRP and reading about Karen reading along too. Press on and hang in there. It is such a great thing to do...reading the Bible in some sort of organised way. And reading with a plan in a climate of grace (rather than making the plan an idol). I am praying that God will bless you richly on this great adventure - however long it takes.

Thanks so much for the encouragement, Meredith! Definitely going to press on. It's encouraging to cover a lot of ground just in a couple of days. Thanks heaps also for the prayer.
