Well, today's my birthday. 36 and counting.
It's been a really nice day so far. The girls gave me some lovely presents- Mozart's Requiem, a cross necklace, some red frogs and best of all, a day course thing with a potter to learn how to use a pottery wheel! I'm stoked about that.
We went to the local cafe for brekky, and then while E took the kids to the movies (My Little Pony! Eeeeee!! EEEE!!!) I went and did a painting. E even packed me a special goodie bag to take with me-- home made florentines, Cheezles, a ham and salad roll, cheese, strawberries and crackers and a thermos of tea! What a woman).
As is always the way when I go painting, I drove and wandered about forever, not finding anything I wanted to paint. It gets tense, because time is of the essence, and suddenly all my surroundings seem so boring and unpaintable! Just chooose something!, I cry, come on! says I. Anyway, I eventually settled myself by the side of a road and painted a little garage over a fence. I'll post a picture of it soon.
After that I came home and cleared the veggie patch of weeds to get ready to sow some stuff. I'm a bit frustrated with how dusty the soil is after all the compost and good stuff I've put in there over the past couple of years. I hope it goes a bit better than last year at least.
Anyway, it's now nearly tea time- E's cooking taco's and a peach and apricot pie. Yum! When the kids are down I'm going to try and con E into watching a samurai movie with me. I feel very blessed.
