Rejiggery

I've done a bit of a re-jig of my painting website- bigger images, and hopefully generally a bit clearer.

Any tips would be appreciated, as I'm pretty crap when it comes to fonts and all that tom foolery.

PS- check out the nifty options under 'Classic' in that black header bar thing. I didn't put that there, but I like it.

I like it, it's simple but it has character, and it all (headings, background, etc.) complements the paintings rather than drawing any attention away from them. I especially like the font for the painting titles, that one's gold.

The Mosaic option is pretty cool!

Nice. I really like it.

I wonder. Can you please take a photo of your paints and list what colours you have? Or just what you think are the few most useful colours you have?

Thanks Belle:)

Jess, I don't have many paints.. I've been a bit of a cheapskate in that regard. When I started I bought a little kids pack about 8 colours, and then over the years maybe bought about 5 more colours.

I'll need to check on some of the names, but the ones that spring to mind that I use a lot of are

-Burnt Umber (that's what I use for that brown wash, and to mix with colours to make a black, along with Paynes Grey. I never use actual black.)
-Burnt Sienna
-Paynes Grey (this is my favourite, you add a little to a colour and make different tones of the same colour)
Naples Yellow
Sap Green (this is what I use most for the warm grass or foliage. It's a nice Summery colour)
Titanium White..

um..

Can't remember, but there's a few others I use. But I reckon just get a little starter pack and work from there. I think I'd get way too baffled if I had 7 greens and nineteen reds that I had to make a decision on each time I paint. the experts can do that, but I think I'm better off working with less.

Thanks. I learnt oil painting from a lady who suggested about 6 standard colours for landscapes. I'm trying to add a colour every now and then but still get good value, so thanks for your colour reviews.
