Jessica- Is white rice not food? If you bit it, does it not satisfy?
Wendy- But you are highlighting exactly what I'm talking about. To me, there is no portion that I have paid for that could be too large. If I've paid for it, it must be eaten. It's only right.
Yes, technically it is food. But it's empty carb so I'll only eat it if I can scrape some dregs of sauce. I don't want to finish a delicious meal with a mouthful of plain white rice, I want to finish with deliciousness. And I like to have even amounts of rice and tasty food on each forkful as I eat. So sometimes there is white rice leftover, and I'm forced not to eat it.
Many girls do leave a 2 mouthfuls at the end of a meal, so your observation is generally true. I feel pressure to conform, as a minority female dinner-finisher.
I too like to end with a 50/50 mouthful, but I just plan ahead, by eating some plain rice mouthfuls prior to meal conclusion. Thus successfuly achieving both a tasty last mouthful, and a clean plate.
It's an art that males, in general, seem to be better at. That's all I'm saying.
White rice isn't really very processed, it's just had its husk removed. If I'm looking for healthy I'd rather eat white rice than white bread, for example. It will stick with you longer.
Ben, I'm a small person (read, short with an average weight). Some portions simply don't fit in my stomach.
But it's a mind over matter thing. I am in charge of my stomach, and so when I tell it to obey, it obeys. 'Make room for that rice with low nutritional value', says I. And make way it does.
here's the thing: the girls ARE hungry. they'd LOVE to eat it. but they don't, because they're trying to stay thin. for the guys who are watching. and egging them on to eat. and doing nothing but rubbing salt in the already very hungry wound!!
I don't like eating the plain (rice, pasta etc.) by itself either, so what I do is I eat the bits that haven't managed to sauce first and then I can finish it all off.
Posing a task with a loaded question rather than a simple logical request-
example:
Her, "I guess I'll have to empty the dishwasher by myself then?...(grumble grumble)" Him, as he chokes on his coffee, "Err..."
Rather than-
Her, "Could you be a love and help me unload the dishwasher please dear?" Him, "Why I certainly would! In fact why don't you leave it to me. You work so hard and it seems unfair that I expect you should do everything around the house." Her, "Why thank you. That sounds lovely."

I like that as well. Means more for me.
I agree
Nup. I finish my own AND other people's meals. The only thing I sometimes leave is white rice, when I have an uneven amount of rice and tasty food.
Only if the portion is too large to finish.

"Empty carb"?
Block your ears, Long Grain, I still love you.

I made that up but it's also real! High carb, low nutritional value. Processed white stuff.

I'm small too.

Don't let your size bully you around.
I'm more concerned about your numbering system. From what I can work out this should be #4. 67? What a load.
What do you mean by 'wahat a load'?
You see, what's happened, is that girls like lots of stuff. I'm merely gleaning a few of the things from the big list, is all.
Not me!! I eat everything, and I am also a very small person :)
props

Why should I eat something that makes me feel physically uncomfortable? That's greed.
Kim- that's devastating.
Wendy- well, gluttony more than greed, but I get your point.
I am having a bit of a joke here, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. Or rice.

Things girls like #230....

Sound familiar??
Crazyjedidiah- That's wisdom
Steve- Yikes, I'm staying away from that one..
devastatingly true!! maybe it should be "things girls do" instead of "things girls like" ...
