Container and Candle (2008)

Container and Candle (2008)
31x 26cm, Oil on Canvas

I did this painting yesterday afternoon, while the girls were having a rest. E had put the two objects side by side on the edge of the bath, and I liked how the two things loooked together-- It reminded me of a Georgio Morandi painting. I am pleased with how the painting turned out, because I managed to not be too fussy, and labour over it too much.

Very nice painting in deed! Great comparison of contrasting hues, side by side. Wonderful :)

Thanks Chris! Hey I was reading thru some of yr old posts today and saw you wrote about cicadas once too..that's cool. You get the 17 yr cycle ones over there that I was reading about.

Hey Ben:
Yes, every 17 years it's a swarm, millions and millions come out of the ground, climb trees, lay the larva, and then the the young go back into the ground, not to see us for 17 more years!
I've added your blog to mine, I like your art and your nature :)
Nice work.
