Dad asked me to go to to this Tim Winton book launch that's on in a couple of weeks. It should be interesting, I've never been to a 'literary dinner' before. I like Tim Winton a lot, although for some reason I never got around to reading his last book of short stories, The Turning. I loved Cloudstreet, though, and The Riders and Dirt Music. I haven't read that many Australian authors, but he's definitely the best I've read.
Looking at the size of the book in the picture, it's no wonder it took him seven years to write.

Another good short stories by Winton is "Scission" (I think it was called...
ps. On a second look, I see that it is his latest book...I thought he was sitting on a blue tub...

Hey Ben - you gotta read The Turning - the stories are very easy to read. It would be a good way to prepare for the Literary Dinner. I agree with AY Scission was good to. I have read all his books except his childrens books. I don't read many books but I can't resist a "Tim Winton" tome.

AY-- Yeah, Scission is a good one, I think that was the first Tim Winton I read. A couple of those stories really stuck in my mind.
Dad-- 'Prepare'? You didn't say anything about homework..Well maybe I'll try and borrow The Turning from you before the thing. I think I have read most of his other books; In The Winter Dark, That Eye the Sky, Minimum of Two. A couple I haven't read are The Shallows and Open Swimmer. Worth reading?
What do you mean - "Are they worth reading?" They are by Tim Winton - what more can I say
