On Saturday I had the most amazing discovery. It will be hard to get across to you how amazing it is though. I am a MASSIVE fan of the Beach Boys (I would have about thirty plus BB's related cd's.) The holy grail for diehard fans is this album that Dennis Wilson released in 1977 (the year I was born, and a few years before he drowned), Pacific Ocean Blue. It was deleted and has not been available. All I have heard was snippets on the internet.But it has finally been released!! I discovered this on Saturday morning, and had it in my hands by the evening. It is seriously moving, beautiful music. Listen to this one song, it is just the most powerful, haunting, intimate, amazing love song. He sounds pretty fried and croaky, but listen to how powerful it is. The way those soft strings rise at the end breaks my heart.
