Morning

I like that I have become a morning person. I was watching the sunrise from the bus window this morning, enthralled in the way the sky turned the trees orange, the way the light and shadows changed so quickly, and I felt a deep sense of happiness.

A few years back when I was unemployed, I got in to the habit of staying up ridiculously late, and as a consequence I got into the routine of waking really late. This made me feel depressed. I would wake tired, the day was already well underway, and I would immediately feel behind the eight ball, floundering.

When you get to see the sunrise, you feel ready and alive.
