I had mixed feelings last night as E packed up the Christmas tree, took down the lights, and put the decorations into boxes.Sad that it signalled the end of Christmas, holidays and the approaching end of Summer.
But happy that the reminder of these things was put away, as I need to face the new year looking forward, not stuck in sentimentality about a season that's gone.

I just took down my Christmas decorations too. The place always seems a little empty after that. But I am looking forward to warmer weather which helps, even though it is still about three month off.
yeah, the place does look empty.. but there's something nice about how uncluttered things look when you put away the christmas cards.
