Another Season, Another Sexual Assault

Brett, Brett, Brett, Brett, Brett.

I love football, but why are the players such loser meat-heads?

Because people put them on pedestals and there is no history of nurtured respect or accountability in this sport at all..... Young blokes get payed exorbitant amounts of money because they can handle an inflated bloody bladder covered in pigskin.
Sad thing is that this situation, just like every other time (you know what I'm referring to Mr BJ) will get swept under the rug again and in a roundabout way, because no example has ever been made, will inadvertently be condoned.

There is a way to tackle these issues and this goes for ANY sport. Don't subscribe. Full stop. Watch it on TV but stay away from the games and the clubs. They are ultimately responsible for the men in their sides and if they see that poeple are not going to keep supporting thugs and rapists, then they might pay attention and start pulling people in line and kicking the miserable blaggards out.

But....people are blindly faithful and they will find something to justify their continued patronage and the football world will continue to operate as it does.

I agree with most of what you said, but I don't think your solution would change very much. And it seems silly to throw out a whole sport because of some bad apples.

The article I linked to was interesting, I thought, because it said that rather than footy players being this terrible group of blokes, rather, they are not that different to the rest of the population-- only more in the spotlight.

Men behaving badly is not exclusive to the footy field.
