Ravenous

I've been trying to curb my appetite at dinner time.

I get so hungry during the day, and by the time I get home I'm starving, and eat about seventeen helpings. Obviously this isn't a real crash hot pattern, so I'm trying to work on filling up more in the arvo.

It's a problem that I realise has been there for a long time, stretching way back to
here.

Benno....
Take the time to prepare your meal for the day. Have a significant (healthy) breakfast and that will at least get you started in the right direction.
try and have small meals through the day. That is, fruit (at least 3 pieces), maybe some nuts and stuff..but cut out the bikkies. Full stop and get a lot of water into you.. When you do eat your lunch, try and consume something with less processed carbohydrates and something that will slowly feed your system through the afternoon. Low GI stuff like Bananas and rice, etc. try and cut out stuff with sugar in it as this will only exacerbate the problem.. If you have slow fed your system through the day, by and large, you will only need a top up in the evening..Again, try and get a little more protein rich foods..lean meat, Chicken, fish and vegetables..Leave the Potatoes, pasta and stuff for through the day...

I get the feeling this post may run the path of the yoga DVD, but you never can tell..

Oh, one more thing. If you do manage to get in some exercise in the morning, you will find that your appetite will be supressed somewhat.

sorry.

Oh, stuff like white bread is bad gear. Over processed and ends up being a heavy lump in your guts waiting to end up your waistline.

Also, when you cook up ya dinner...make a little extra.
leftovers rock!

that's ok, I kinda expected some advice to come from your direction! Actually brekky's not really a prob. I have a good brekky at work. Lunch is more the issue. Thanks for the tips bro

Mate, just as a side note. If you don't mind eating the same thing for a few days in a row, try this.
I cook up a batch of dhal on a monday morning. (Lentils etc), Takes 10 minutes. Do 4 cups of BROWN rice and this will form the basis of my lunches for the next four days. I then either make a nice savoury mince (no oil/fat, peas, onions and spices) and voila.Meals...yum.
I also bring along the odd tin of tuna (high protein, low calorie / carb) and bang that in for some variation..

Just what works for me.
