MasterChef

Anyone been watching MasterChef (aka, So You Think You Can Cook)? I'm liking it. I wish I could go on it. I wonder what I would dazzle them with. Probably not gravy.

Last night one contestant said her passion for food was like 'an inferno inside' her. I get that from a vindaloo, but not so much just from food in general.

Some nice ideas for recipes of the show anyways...

I have!

and yes, the chilli crab was definitely drool worthy.

I do find it all a bit nauseating when they talk about cooking as if its some spiritual experience...and there seems to be a bit of a formula on what to say to get the judges to like you (like that woman with the peach tree...)

oh yes, the peach tree. That was a beauty.

So true about the formula.. Basically you can't just say 'i like cooking a lot', you have to have a story, preferably incorporating a relative on their death bed giving you a mysterious seed which you secretly planted in a faraway orchard that grew a magical mango tree which grew the magical fruit which you are now using to prepare this magical dish..
