When it comes down to it, the main reason I have a blog is because I like to talk to people. Without having to talk.
I really like the idea of little communities being built around blogs, with new friendships springing up, and that eventually extending beyond blogs and into the 'real world'. (I don't know why 'real world' is in adverted commas, it just seemed like the cool, knowing thing to do.)
Anyway, I often wonder about ways of having more interaction online. I don't think you can force it, by pleading for comments. If I was in the readers shoes I'd run a mile. Too needy. Click- next blog please.
But one idea I've been pondering is how cool it would be to have another superblog where it was shared by several people, and they could all post on it. I have seen some examples and most seem to fail. One person posts every day, the rest of the group post once every seventh leap year.
Another setback would be working out what the over-arching (is that a word?) topic thing would be for the blog. But I wouldn't want it to be too specific and exclusive in that way.
But whiny negatives aside, I'd love to go to some blog where everyone's always there chatting and posting. Sort of like an online Cheers. It'll never eventuate, but I like the idea.

There used to be a CiTM superblog thing.
But it got deleted.
It did have a real community feel while it existed though.
I agree - it would be nice.
But seeing as I have a joint blog with someone I live with (and can nag) and it doesn't lead to posting, I don't know that an even bigger joint one would work.
I like the idea because it doesn't put the onus on one person to post all the time. Sam and I are going through a bit of a blog lull at the moment (too much going on currently). But I still like to read other people's blogs and interact with them.
I think the thing that would innevitably happen would be one or two people would post a lot, and others would lose interest quick. Or the other thing, it would quickly become about one narrowish sort of topic.
I wish there was a way around it. Probably isn't.

Superblogs? Isn't that what facebook and twitter are?
But my issue with Facebook and Twitter is that there's lots of chatter, but nobody really seems to really talk about anything..

What I want is proper conversations. Ah heck, I spose I could turn off the computer and just go and talk to people, Iif I really must.
That's kind of what I'm going for by inviting anyone and everyone to have an account on my blog.
I hate stagnant websites, and I figure co-writers should be more likely to comment on each others posts.
But that doesn't happen.
Feel free to take me up on my standing offer to post on my blog any time.

Drew, maybe a forum, but that sort of has impersnal overtones to me, rather than just a group of friends chatting and commenting on eachothers thoughts.
Don't mind me, I'm just chasing after the wind.
We could pick a topic for the week and everyone could blog on it on their own blogs, link to each other and have a discussion that way?

I seriously am more than happy for anyone to join the St-Eutychus team. The more the merrier.
My concern is that people will put in lots of effort on posts and be drowned out by canned poo or whatever else I manage to trawl up on the interwebs...
What about a 'bulletin board'. Its probably the same thing as a forum. But a group/community forms and you can post under different forums (or topics) set up by the owner/host. I think its pretty easy to set one up on EZboard/Yuku or Yahoo.
I have one I am a part of and the 'talk' amongst us is more personal and meaningful than say facebook. But there are also threads that are just funny or trivial too. A little different than a blog though
