Since I cut my hair last week, several people have commented on the small thatch of grey hairs that have sprung up at the front of my head.
Just so you know, I was painting the ceiling white, and bumped my head on it accidentally, so get off my case, alright?

I am very, very grey Ben. Be proud. Grey hair is a crown of splendour, it is attained by a righteous life (it's a proverb, 16.31)
I first noticed I was sprouting non-brunette hairs when I was 23. My thought at the time was, "Woo hoo! I'm going to go silver, not grey!"
I have what's called "glassy" hair - naturally super shiny so when it's short it looks like a dark grey-brown; the true chocolate colour shows better when it's long.
Now that a dozen years have passed since I first saw a silver hair, I have enough that the top of my head looks a greyish-brown.
I'm not a fan of dying one's hair to cover grey but I wonder if one day I'll resort to it until my hair decides which colour it's going to be. When it decides I'll sport a silver mop. :-)
Yeah, I embrace it. I am a strange person in that I like the idea of being old and grey. The offense I take is just a front.
Maybe it's sexist, but I'm not totally against ladies dying their grey hair, but HATE when I see men doing it. Is that sexist, do you think?
I don't feel strongly that women should (E doesn't plan to, and I think that's cool), but it doesn't bother me if they do.
With men, I don't know. Something in me just rebels at the idea. What are you doing fiddling with your hair colour- shouldn't you be outside chopping up firewood or fixing a fence or something?
So it's not so much that you oppose men covering their grey hair; it's that you think the activity required to do it is "girly"?
Hmm. No, it is about the covering. I'm not sure why, but I feel like they should have bigger fish to fry. But for someone as petty as I am, that is proably the pot calling the kettle a blouse.
