Hot Pants

You know it's hot when you put on the folded jeans you took off the line yesterday arvo, and they've still got heat in them from the previous days' sun.

Our bedroom was like an oven last night. When I pried my skin off the sheets this morning, I swear I smelt bacon..

So what possessed you to wear jeans in that weather?

Well I couldn't show my chicken legs at work now, could I?

Why not? What makes you think anyone cares enough to focus on your legs when they are insecure enough about their own?

This is the advice an old friend was given when he was a young man.

And, if it is an issue, don't you have anything lighter weight than jeans?

it's not really the done thing to wear shorts to work here..

For the record, I like my chicken legs, and give them a good run on the weekends.

And to answer your last question, no. Not for a lack of trying, either.

Ah, sounds like you're having as much success with current men's fashion as I'm having with women's fashion.

I'm going to ask a dressmaker friend to make some trousers for me based on the style of a pair that I love because they fit, have a waist and make me look good. I got them at an op shop years ago. Unfortunately op shops now have the same stuff as is still in the new-clothes shops - hipsters with "waist" bands that stick out three inches at the back so you can see the wearer's underwear - now there's a professional look!

Yeah I hear you. I'm fairly short, and really the only option out there apart from jeans, are cargo pants, which make me look about 14.

It's hard enough finding jeans that fit, let alone a jeans alternative.
