Personal vs. Professional

The other day, Michael Clarke the Australian cricketer left a tour of New Zealand to fly back to his fiance, Lara Bingle, who's at the centre of all that nude photo controversy stuff. It now looks like they are going to break up.

But all that aside, I read one commentator say critically of Clarke, that this does not give a good impression, as he is putting his personal life before his professional life.

Since when is that something to criticise? I'd put personal before professional any day of the week.

And I'm glad to hear it Ben.

Me thinks the media knows it's better to put personal life before professional, but they're liking the attention from outraged onlookers.

But of course cricket is FAR more important than anything else.

Not.

There was a great article calling out all the critical people on ABC last night - that he chose his personal life over professional makes him MORE suitable to be captain ie. a better person.

I would like to ask...
WHO CARES?!?!

This sort of stuff happens every damn day all around the world.
What makes these people any different.

He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Me personally, would choose personal over oprofessional anyday. The only difference is, I'm not on million dollar contracts. That does carry a bit more weight..

Let them be.

Oh, I agree. I wasn't so much writing because I'm fascinated by their celebrity-ness, I was just interested in the attiude of the commentator, and how out of whack that seemed.

I'd also say regardless of pay-packet size, personal has got to come first.
