Grrrrrrrrr

Nathan writes about an abortion topic in the news.

I hate the ridiculous hypocrisy of this. 'Don't get me wrong, we love our daughter to bits, but we're suing the doctors for not diagnosing birth defects, missing our opportunity to abort.'

You're a joke.

It is so blood boilingly stupid.

I guess it goes along with the old adage, 'if you love something, kill it before it's born'

I don't want to get in to this issue. But I will say this: I think this is more a statement about the state of our care system (ie support for carers and Gov assistance) than anything else. That this is the only way a family could get money enough to help pay the costs of caring for a disabled child. And that's pretty sad.

It's a tad bit crazy, and does sound like "we love her but we wish she'd never been born", which is rather harsh. However, I think it's meant as a "pre-natal care should be a lot better than it is" and that Amy's on to something. Most, if not all, carers for the disabled are struggling. There was a documentary not long ago on UK telly on the subject, as it came up when a mother took her own life and that of her disabled daughter after years of abuse.

Not going to get into an abortion yes or no debate today, sorry. ;)
