I saw a brochure thing for Orion cruises laying around at work, and I just wanted to share with you the picture on the cover, which I thought was hilarious.
I don't know how you would read that picture, or how the genius who came up with the concept would expect the picture to be read.
But for me, I can't see any other way to read it than 'hey come on our great cruise and be speared to death by angry natives'.
I love the feeling of optimism of the people in the lil' boat. Some have their cameras out, happily taking snaps of this exciting little expedition to Death Island.
I doubt those rolls of film will ever get developed, somehow.

Major fail. By the way, that picture is currently featured on their Facebook page with the following description: "Here is the new 2012 brochure front cover image taken in Santa Ana, The Solomons by Darrin Bennett from our Expedition Team." I'm sure they would welcome some constructive criticism. :)
I think it would have worked far better if the natives were cooking up a magnificent feast on the beach and were carrying large platters of tropical fruit and coconuts rather than the spears :)
Hilarious. That kind of tourism always taps into the most simplistic stereotypes of island life, but that's a new one! Of course, those men in grass skirts probably run small IT businesses when not posing for tourists.
