Life Lessons or, The Amassed Knowledge Of Thirty-Two Years Of Life On Earth

#1. A Scotch Finger biscuit broken across-ways rather than the intended length-ways just doesn't taste the same.

Even when subsequently broken the correct way, telling yourself it's no different. You're fooling no one, least of all yourself.

Unless you are under 2 years old - when said biscuit broken both across and lengthways means you now actually have FOUR biscuits! Quantity over quality.

Ah, man, I haven't had a Scotch Finger for two years. I'm gonna get onto that!

By the way, where's that pic from? Looks like a cover I saw on a copy of Candide, but, er, cheesier somehow.

Julie- ah, the naivete of youth.

Stuart- It's a cropped version of 'The Wanderer' by an awesome German painter called Caspar David Freidrich.

Got it. It definitely has that sense of European Romantic transcendence (man confronting/overcoming/being overwhelmed by the majesty of nature, especially the sea, storms, the sky, or mountains).

It was René I was thinking of, by the way, not Candide. I've done a search on Amazon, but I can't find the book cover. I wouldn't be surprised if it were the very same image.

yeah, it's pretty famous and well-used. I think there may be a can of cat food that uses the picture too.
