1. Hubbub or solitude - generally solitude but I can get lonely after a couple of months and crave people. :-0
2. A year you remember nostalgically. Why? - 1988 - I should have gone to Expo '88 more, it was before I largely fell into that teen angst of, "Why do I bother?"
3. Best book you've read so far this year - difficult choice as it requires remembering which books I've read this year. I'll go with the one I read most recently "The Quilter's Apprentice" by Jennifer Chiaverini - clean, secular book about the relationships between a bunch of quilting ladies; I like it enough to borrow more of the series from one of the ladies at the quilting group I go to.
4. The most you've paid for a haircut - I think about the price I pay now - $25, but they wash and dry my hair too so I don't mind paying more than for the base standard just-a-trim that I could get up the road.
5. I'm pretty good at cutting hair. Would you trust me to do yours? - If I saw some of your work on someone else I might.
My word, Simone - where did you have your hair done and would you go there again?

2. 2000. Massive year of change: Moved to the city, joined a band, new friends, got together with E, new church, started my first proper job, new house etc. It all felt very exciting after a couple of years feeling really lonely and discontent.
3. Probably the ONLY book I've read this year! Requium For A Nun.
4. $25. Mostly just cut my own hair.

What was I thinking with the $150 haircut? I made the mistake of not asking about the price beforehand. The $150 included a colour, but still I was shocked. Never ever again. It was an okay haircut.
Helen- You'd write me off as quickly as that? You may be shutting the doors on the best haircut you ever had. I implore you.
Ruth- Not even you, Ruth? You know, your hair isn't so dissimilar to mine. I have learnt how to style and cut curls with the best of them.
Georgina- Yeah, while I love the idea of solitude, I quickly go stircrazy if I'm left alone too long.. And thanks for your trust. Your hair will thank you.
Chris- I'm a blade 3 all over at the moment as well. Yeah, I really enjoyed No Country. I've got All The Pretty Horses lined up to read soon. He's a good writer.

Amy - my hairdresser is in Kingston. Up the road in Logan Central or across the road from the PA Hospital you can have students cut your hair for $10. A barber will also do it for cheaper than most hairdressers, however you won't get a wash and dry for that price.
Soph- Desiring God is a book I've always meant to read, but never properly gotten around to it. Worth it?
