Rocky Marathon

While we were up the there was a bit of a Rocky movie marathon on pay TV, which was cool. It was the first time I had seen the most recent one, Rocky Balboa. I really liked it. I had heard lots of people say it was garbage, but I thought it was great. Good premise, decent acting, lots of good clock cleaning, and a good training montage. I love a training montage, especially if it is to Survivors' Eye of The Tiger. That song is made for montages.

I may have liked it more because I had seen Rocky V earlier that day, which was pretty tough going. Certainly not the best of the series. Apollo Creed. Mr T. Ivan Drago....and Tommy Gunn. Sorry, but he was not a worthy opponent at all. Still, the closing credits had an Elton John song with some poignant lyrics, Soak in this poetry, readers:

These battered hands are all you own,
This broken heart has turned to stone.

So true.
