White Lamp, Oil on Canvas board 2008
I even got in a bit of painting on the holiday. E's Dad came out of a $2 shop with some oil paints, brushes and canvases, so one night I sat down for an hour and did this painting. I quite like it and am sad that I had to leave it in Queensland, as oil paints take ages to dry. Hopefully one day I will get it back.

I love this painting! White is very difficult to paint, I know! I could see yellows and blues which work well as light and shadow. Nice representation.
PS I saw a lamp like this in a catalog for lots of money! $75. I would much rather have a painting than the real thing!
Thanks a lot,Chris:)White is sort of hard to paint, I agree. If you don't tint it with some sort of colour, it just looks sort of dead on the canvas. I'm still trying to work out how to overcome that.
