Actually, I've got one, when I was in year 9 I did a marketing assignment where I had to invent a product. I wrote a jingle for it (to the tune of Mary had a little lamb) and recorded it on cassette. It was put on display in the library and someone stole it and it went viral (within the confines of our school).

Pete- i like that you have a poo story too. Everyone ought to have one.

Sam-dacked in front of animals. That's harsh dude.

Nathaniel- I too have that awesome talent. We should hook up for duelling humwhistles. I'd really like to read Moby Dick too.

Soph-Hurrah for poo stories!Oh yeah early bedtimes are the bomb.

Georgina- Ouch about the swimmers. I've been there too. I have lots of fond memories of walkman-sharing too.

Geoff- I love that you had the hots for the Hanson kid. That is maybe the greatest thing I've ever heard. I wish I knew you so I could tease you. I think his name was Taylor. He's so hot right now.

Drew- I suspect that you're in a funny mood.. Everyone talks about the West Wing. I should try it. To me as soon as I found out it was about polotics I said 'welp, there's a show I'll never ever watch'.

SophG- being transparent is a cool hidden talent, it's almost like a super-power. Heh, I love your year 3 story!

Ruth- is that that Olympics song with the Tenors? Yeah, that's pretty pain inducing.. that's funny that you got in the wrong seat. You should've called to your friend 'run along, my driver will be here presently. Good day!'

Ben McLaughlin said...

Laetitia-oh yeah I hate that song too. Though you are giving mixed messages by doing the animal noises..

10. I was Rolf in the school 'Sound of Music' production. In one scene I had to kiss Liesl. Every time we did a rehearsal everyone else would be eagerly waiting to see "is he gonna do it this time?". The first time I did, it turned out my mum had dropped in to the school for some reason and was sitting the front row.

Not as bad as a poo story maybe... but you know...

Being able to do the splits at any age is pretty impressive.

Ben McLaughlin said...

Well, to give you a look inside my sad neurotic mind, Soph and Nathan, I don't know what the correct ettiquette is, and I've been experimenting.

Sometimes I don't respond at all, sometimes I respond only to the ones I thought of a reply to. But this feels mean to the others, and if it were me I'd be sad to be skipped.

So this week I'm experimenting with replying to ALL. A tough gig, but that's just how giving I am. My love cup overfloweth, come quiz time.

Ben McLaughlin said...

And so, to get on with the love-fest:

Maso- Both scones and Luke Perry's hair are cool. I want both.

Beth- awesome that you met a Duke. I'm jelous. Nice splits action too.

Do these comments sound contrived? they feel a bit contrived to me. Stupid blog ettiquette.

well, they do now...

Chris- Nevermind. we all had a cry over Winnie The Pooh. Actually I'm just saying that. I had a dabble in composting. It was satisfying, but made me feel a bit dry-reachy doing it. But I loved the deep coloured, rich smelling soil it made. It was beautiful stuff, I could nearly eat it.

lu- aww. 1990 was a good year then. Yeah I could live without that annoying song too. Boring and dirgy.
