A Question

Is it sexist to be excited about having a female prime minister, more because she's a female than because of who she is and what she stands for?

I remember wondering the same thing when Obama became president, but for race rather than gender.

Probably.

Depends. I think you can be happy that a female is in a position to become a leader, that society has progressed that far.

And that now you can say to your daughters that they too can be prime minister one day if that is what they want to do, and it would be possible. That's a good reason to be happy.

Yes.

Quite frankly, there are countries that are not exactly known for being pro-woman that have had less hang-ups about a female head of politics than this country.
