1. Once I start... I never know when to stop - I'm with Beth - reading a book - Ian (hubby) is always having to tell me that it'll be there in the morning. :-)
2. I wish I had a better understanding of...computer hardware and how it works so I could understand what my Mum is on about - but other higher priority things take my time.
3. A voice that makes you nostalgic when you hear it - recordings of my grandmother.
4. Favourite black and white movie - Cat People (1942)
5. Licorice: tasty treat, or foul-tasting black monstrosity that's like a cuttings from an old tyre? - It's ok that you don't like it - more for the rest of us. :-)
1. yes, agreeing with others - reading a good book - I can't stop, then am disappointed when it's finished.
2. minor prophets - but I'm learning.
3. my uncle - I rarely see him, but he sounds just like my grandfather did - and although it's a painful reminiscence, it's also lovely. I think I last saw that uncle about 11 years ago, and my grandfather died in 1995. But I will see him again in eternity, and will be introducing his great grandchildren and hugging him again then.
4. Oh, hard one - so many good B&W movies.... I love "Rebecca" - the candle light flickering in Mrs Danvers face - sooo creepy! Also love 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and '12 Angry Men'....I could go on - lots of them are great.
5. Delicious tasty treat. Very addicted to 'Green Apple Licorice' which is only sold cheaply at Big W. Totally the yummiest of all special treats! I do like the black stuff too.
1. Explaining why I am right (a bad habit).
2. Spelling. Hopeless.
3. A Scottish accent. Any will do.
4. Casablanca. Combination of war history, painful love and honour - what more could you want?
5. Horrid. Horrid. Horrid.
1. Buying fruit and veges...I have this weird paranoia about running out of them so I have to keep buying them whenever I am in the supermarket.
2. Too many things! That's why I compulsively read...to try to find out more about stuff I don't understand.
3. Leonard Teale reciting The Man from Snowy River.
4. I'm a bit of a Rebecca fan too.
5. The monstrosity one. Can't stand it.
1. Mostly reading, but also cleaning. *That's why it's better not to start*
2. The Bible.
3. Steve Cannane, who presented the morning show on Triple J back in the day.

Pedro- Yep, To Kill A Mockingbird. Beautiful
Cj- Yeah, I would like some maths skills, but don't want the pain of aquiring them
Beth- I wish I was one of you book people. Two pages and I'm restless.
Wendy- Amazing book, but come on, amazzing film too. One of the best book adaptations ever!
Laetitia- I've heard a fair bit about Cat People, but haven't actually seen it.
Ruth- Yeah, I like Rebecca, it's got a cool gothic mood to it all.
Deb- horrid indeed. Don't you hate when there's black cats in a party mix, and the foul odour permeates the rest of the lollies? The whole batvch is spoilt.
Karen- I reckon that's a cool trait, wanting to find out about stuff you don't understand.
Belle- I know when to stop cleaning: just before you get to the bathroom.
Kim- totally with you with the obtaining.
Simone- Yeah, gotta love Moz. Bullets are terrible. The chocolate on the outside is supposed to trick me that it's actually something nice. But no- white washed tomb.
Al- Better than chocolate. That's just sick. With you with the nails. I tend to stop when I reach the first knucklebone.
PS- While Wizard of Oz doesn't qualify as b&w because most of it is technicolour, that beginning bit in black and white is BEAUTIFUL. The Somewhere Over The Rainbow bit, and the storm bit just look fantastic.
Ben - I saw Cat People when Bill Collins used to introduce classic movies on TV. I would have been a teenager which means you were probably 'in short pants' as the saying goes.
It's one of those rare horror films where you don't see the creature (a panther) in all its terrifying glory until the end; in the meantime you just hear the growls and the screams - hair stand on end stuff. The remake was a poor imitation.
I love to read these, but I am always late. Sorry.
1. Watching a television series- If I can I will start the next episode.
2. You all had great answers- politics, math, bible.
3. I am far from my family & friends. I love to talk to them.
4. Don't have a fav. I recently watched the Philadelphia Story. It looked good, but I didn't like the story.
5. I LOVE Licorice.
Laetitia - I had forgotten Bill Collin's introductions until just that moment when I read your comment! Oh the joy! I loved hearing him say, "And if you watch carefully, you'll see a young (insert name of old movie goddess that I didn't have a clue about) appear alongside (insert name of a handsome movie man from a begone era)just before he moved to Universal Studios..... Oh happy afternoon television watching of my youth.
