Interesting, RC. It's true, some new, cutting-edge experimental software was removed from the standard 2.0's in the 90's as it was deemed too advanced at the time for the clumsy old 2.0 packages to cope with.

well...if you want to know how a spanish speaking person would pronounce it, its Nah-chos. Short and succinct. There is no ow sounding vowel in the spanish / mexican vernacular. Doesn't change the fact that done well, they taste unreal!!

Yes Benno, that is pretty close to the correct pronunciation. However, the vowel 'i' is pronounced as 'ee' so the burritos would be 'boo-ree-tos'. The 'u' is pronounced as 'oo'. Good language. If you want e, write e!!!!
My brother-in-law, who knows everything there is to know about everything, and uses his iPod for things like teaching himself Spanish and French, just because, recently set me straight over "chorizos" so I'm going to ask him.

There's some kind of complicated, abstract question in here about appropriating words from other languages. Maybe instead we should just rename the nachos (I do say "choes" by the way, even tho I'd have guessed "choss" to be more correctly Spanish) to something Aussie - would you like "bangers and mash" or ____? I'm uninspired - maybe I'll ask my ocker friends instead ...

i don't have a problem with the spanish pronouncing it their way. but when you say their pronunciation in an Aussie accent, it just sounds stoopid.

Ali, I think we did rename Nachos. We just 'choes'* to keep the spelling the same. English is awesome like that :)
